Terms of Service

Last updated: [DATE]

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of jectapro (the "Service"), operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, signing in, or using the Service in guest mode, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

jectapro is a project planning and tracking web application. It is offered on several plans:

  • Solo (free) — full single-user planning functionality, at no cost, for as long as you use the Service.
  • Pro (paid) — Solo plus additional features described on our pricing page at the time of purchase.
  • Team and Enterprise — described on our pricing page; access to these plans may be limited to a waitlist rather than immediate purchase. Joining a waitlist is not a guarantee of availability, timing, or final pricing.

We may change which features belong to which plan, and may add, modify, or remove features, at any time. We'll make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes to paying customers in advance.

2. Accounts and guest mode

  • You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
  • Guest ("Continue as guest") mode stores data only in your browser and is permanently lost when the browser tab closes. We have no ability to recover guest session data, and by using guest mode you accept that risk.
  • You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date.

3. Payment, billing, and the Pro plan

  • Paid plan payments are processed by a third-party payment processor ([Stripe]). We do not store your full payment card details.
  • [Describe billing cadence — one-time "support the project" purchase vs. recurring subscription — once finalized; this affects refund language below.]
  • Refund policy: [TO BE DEFINED — e.g. "no refunds," "refunds within X days of purchase," etc.]
  • We reserve the right to change pricing for future billing periods with reasonable advance notice to existing paying customers.

4. Your data

  • You retain ownership of the project data you enter into the Service.
  • You're responsible for the accuracy and legality of the data you input.
  • Don't use the Service to store or process data you don't have the right to store or process, or in a way that violates applicable law.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' data; use the Service to violate any law; interfere with or disrupt the Service's operation; reverse-engineer the Service except as permitted by law; or resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written permission.

6. Publishing feature

If you use a feature that generates a shareable or public link to your project data (e.g. published Gantt views), you are solely responsible for what you choose to share and with whom. Anyone with the link may view the published content unless/until you revoke it. Revoking a link invalidates it for future access; we're not responsible for content already viewed, cached, or saved by a recipient before revocation.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where practicable.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA (INCLUDING GUEST-MODE DATA, WHICH IS NEVER PERSISTED SERVER-SIDE).

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

11. Contact

Questions about these Terms: [CONTACT EMAIL].

Note to the team: this is a lightweight starting draft written to unblock a fast public launch, not attorney-reviewed legal advice. It covers the basics needed to take payment and operate publicly (payment processing via a third party, guest-mode data-loss disclaimer, publish- link responsibility, liability disclaimer). Recommend a real legal review once you know your legal entity, jurisdiction, and finalized Pro billing model (one-time vs. recurring) — ideally before launch if feasible given the time constraint, but at minimum soon after.
